A handmade hand-built ceramic vase in white glaze on grey clay, made by our maker in Scotland.
The making: Hand-built from grey clay rather than thrown on a wheel — the surface is then textured with horizontal stripes running around the body before being brushed all over with a white glaze and kiln-fired. Because each vase is built up by hand, the silhouette is intentionally uneven: the body is roughly cylindrical, and the top rim sits slightly off-level rather than perfectly flat.
How it looks: A 20 cm-tall chalky white vase with horizontal stripe texture running around the body and a deliberately uneven top rim. The grey clay reads faintly through the white glaze where the stripes raise the surface.
Use it for:
- A single stem or two from the garden on a kitchen windowsill
- A small bouquet of seasonal flowers on a dining table
- Dried grasses or eucalyptus as a year-round arrangement
- On a hallway console or mantelpiece between flower deliveries
- A thoughtful Mother’s Day, anniversary or housewarming gift
A considered gift for the friend who appreciates handmade pieces with character rather than mass-produced symmetry — Mother’s Day, anniversaries, housewarmings, or simply because.
Care: Hand wash with mild soap and lukewarm water; avoid soaking or dishwasher.
Size:
- 20 cm tall x 9 cm diameter
- Hand-built (not wheel-thrown) — top rim sits slightly off-level by design
- Handmade — small variations in shape and glaze are part of the character
