A set of five ceramic fridge magnets — a dotted black bird, a yellow daffodil and three small daisies — hand-built in our Scottish studio. Available with an optional black-painted magnetic board.
The making: Each piece is rolled flat from white clay and cut to shape by hand. The black bird is decorated with white dots in underglaze; the daffodil and daisies are painted in soft underglaze yellow and white. A clear glaze is brushed over the lot and they’re kiln-fired, then a strong magnet is glued to the back of each. The optional board is sheet metal painted matte black and sealed with lacquer.
How it looks: The bird is around 9 cm with white polka-dots scattered across the black body. The daffodil sits at roughly 6.5 cm with a creamy yellow trumpet, and the daisies are tiny at 2 cm — small enough to cluster like a posy. Black, white and a hit of soft yellow against the fridge, or against the black board for stronger contrast.
