A wool felted hanging garden elf with ginger hair, holding a small bunch of flowers, made by hand by Fabode’s mother in Scotland.
The making. Each elf is needle-felted from natural wool by Fabode’s mother. A wire skeleton runs through the body so he can be made to sit as well as hang. His ginger hair is felted on top; he wears a plain white top and dark blue trousers, and he holds a small bunch of brightly coloured flowers in his hand. A golden string is attached at the top of his head so he can be hung at the height you choose.
How it looks and feels. He stands approximately 12 cm tall — one of the smaller figures in the set. The ginger hair is the warm centre of the silhouette, with the white shirt and dark blue trousers giving him a tidy, gardener’s look; the bright flowers in his hand are the colour accent. The needle-felted surface is softly fuzzy under the fingers, and the wire inside lets him sit on a shelf or be hung as a hanging figure.
