This cheerful handbuilt ceramic bowl is crafted using the traditional slabbing technique from rustic terracotta stoneware clay. Inspired by summer fruit and folk-art pottery, it combines playful hand-painted strawberries with richly textured surfaces and warm earthy tones.
The exterior is coated in a soft ivory slip, creating a beautiful canvas for the hand-painted strawberries that wrap around the bowl. Gentle brush marks remain visible beneath the glaze, celebrating the handmade nature of the piece and giving it a painterly, organic character.
The standout feature is the richly textured rim, impressed with a repeating strawberry and foliage pattern. Unlike the rest of the bowl, the rim is finished with a transparent glaze only, allowing the texture and natural colour variations of the clay and underglaze to remain beautifully visible while adding a subtle sheen.
