A free-standing wooden toilet roll holder in soft light colours, with internal storage for spare rolls, made in Zoltan’s workshop in Whitburn, Scotland from upcycled workshop offcuts. Choose from four Farrow & Ball-inspired finishes.
The making: The body is built from sturdy plywood with four sides and a back so it stands firmly on a bathroom floor; a hardwood top is treated with food-safe oil so the natural grain shows through. The painted finish is in moisture-resistant paint chosen specifically for bathroom conditions. Pieces are cut, sanded, painted and finished by hand in the workshop — each one uses leftover materials, so this is genuinely upcycled rather than a fashion-word.
How it looks: A clean modern silhouette with a hardwood top in warm oil-finished wood, sitting on a calm painted body in one of four soft shades. The four sides hide spare loo rolls neatly inside. Free-standing on the floor, or wall-mountable (ironmongery available on request).
Use it for:
- Storing spare toilet rolls inside the holder — fits larger brands like Who Gives a Crap
- A small bathroom-corner unit doubling as a side surface for a candle or hand cream
- Replacing a plastic supermarket roll holder with something built to last
- A neutral piece for a calm bathroom palette — wood, linen, stone
- A small housewarming gift for someone redoing a bathroom on a quieter budget
A considered gift for someone furnishing a small bathroom, an Airbnb host, or a sustainably-minded friend — housewarmings, new-home gifts, or simply because.
Care: Wipe down with a damp cloth. Re-oil the hardwood top occasionally to keep it sealed. Suitable for humid bathroom conditions.
