A handmade ceramic vase with leaf-shaped walls and a dark green metallic glaze, made from grey clay in our Scottish workshop.
The making: Hand-built from grey stoneware clay. The walls are rolled out, pressed with lace to give a delicate textured surface, then cut into leaf shapes and joined together by hand to form an oval vessel. Once dried, it’s glazed and fired to 1240°C so the glaze fuses and the metallic sheen develops.
How it looks: A deep, dark forest green on the outside with a subtle metallic shine that shifts in the light. Inside, the glaze pools through several greens — mossy, sage, and touches of turquoise where it gathers thicker. The lace texture sits softly under the glaze on the outer walls.
Use it for:
- Holding a small bunch of foraged greenery or dried flowers
- As a hairbrush holder on a dressing table
- As a bathroom toothbrush holder on a shelf
- Standing alone on a mantelpiece as a sculptural piece
- Gifted to someone who decorates with green plants and forest tones
A considered gift for the person whose home leans into deep, plant-led colour — a Mother’s Day present, a housewarming, or simply because.
Care: Hand wash; not suitable for dishwasher. Wipe the interior dry after use.
Size:
- Height: 14 cm
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
