A handmade ceramic fridge magnet set — one cobalt-and-white slug surrounded by small blue flowers — built from white clay in our workshop in Scotland.
The making: Each magnet is hand-built from a slab of white clay, cut into shape and smoothed, then dried and kiln-fired at 950°C. The pieces are painted with underglaze, glazed with a transparent finish, and fired a second time. Each magnet has a strong ceramic-magnet on the back so it holds onto a fridge or any magnetic surface.
How it looks: The slug is glazed in cobalt and white with hand-painted detail; the surrounding flowers are smaller pieces in matching blues with white centres. Together they read as a small garden scene; individually they’re strong enough to use on their own.
Use it for:
- On the fridge — holding shopping lists or kids’ drawings
- In a kid’s room — quirky enough to feel like a small collection
- On a notice board or office whiteboard
- Gifted to a gardener, a nature lover, or anyone who collects small handmade pieces
- Grouped on an A5 magnetic board as wall art
A small handmade gift for someone who likes garden-inspired pieces — birthdays, housewarmings, or simply because.
Pair with an A5 magnetic board (sold separately) to display the pieces as wall art rather than on the fridge — they read as a composition either way.
Sizes:
- Slug: 11 cm
- Larger blue flowers: 5 cm
- Small flowers: 1.5–2.5 cm
