A set of six ceramic magnets — a cobalt-blue butterfly, a small heart, and four hand-painted flowers in cobalt, orange and white — hand-built in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each piece is hand-shaped from white clay — rolled, cut, and smoothed by hand. The pieces are bisque-fired at 950°C, then painted with underglaze and sealed with a clear transparent glaze before a second firing. A strong magnet is glued to the back of each piece.
How it looks: A deep cobalt-blue butterfly is the centrepiece, with painted detail across its wings. Around it sit four flowers — some in matching cobalt, others in warm light orange and chalk white — plus a small heart in pale cobalt. The glossy clear glaze catches the light over a chalk-white clay body.
Use it for:
- Building a small magnetic scene on a kitchen fridge
- Hanging the set as a wall picture on the optional A5 magnetic board
- Pinning artwork to a magnetic notice board in a child’s room
- A new-baby or first-home gift for someone who likes folk-art ceramics
- Adding a hand-glazed detail to a metal filing cabinet
A considered gift for someone who likes a touch of cobalt-and-folk in the kitchen — new-baby presents, housewarmings, or simply because.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking.
Size:
- Butterfly: approximately 7 cm
- Small flowers: approximately 1.5–5 cm
- Heart: approximately 2.5 cm
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
