A set of four medium ceramic heart magnets in a soft satin-matte red, handmade in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each heart is rolled out from grey clay, cut by hand, and bisque-fired. A satin-matte red glaze is then applied and the hearts are fired again so the glaze settles into a smooth, slightly velvety finish rather than the high-gloss look of standard ceramics. A strong, slim magnet is glued to the back of each.
How it looks: A deep, warm red — closer to lipstick than fire-engine — with a satin-matte finish that catches light softly rather than reflecting it. The grey-clay body shows at the very edge of each heart where the glaze pulls back, giving a subtle dark outline.
