A set of eight handmade ceramic fridge magnets — cobalt blue dragonfly with painted clouds, small pink flowers and three hearts, made by hand in our Scottish studio.
The making: The flowers, dragonfly and hearts are built individually from white clay; the clouds are made from terracotta clay for a slightly different surface. Each piece is rolled, cut, dried, kiln fired at 950°C, then hand-painted in underglaze and finished under a clear transparent glaze. The magnet is fixed to the back once cool. Because every piece is painted by hand, the colours and brush marks vary slightly from set to set.
How it looks: The dragonfly moves between deep cobalt blue and brighter turquoise across its wings. The clouds are textured cobalt and white, with soft pink flower magnets and pink-and-white hearts breaking up the palette.
