A handmade ceramic soap dispenser with a coiled body, finished in a bright turquoise glaze and fitted with a stainless-steel pump — made from light brown clay in our Scottish workshop.
The making: Hand-built using the coiling technique — thin ropes of light brown clay rolled by hand and stacked tightly so the ridges stay visible. Once the form is dry, a vibrant turquoise glaze is brushed inside and out; where the glaze sits across the textured coils it breaks back to reveal the warm brown clay beneath. After firing, a stainless-steel pump is fitted into the neck for everyday use. The Fabode mark is stamped on the base.
How it looks: A short upright bottle with the coil texture clearly visible under the turquoise glaze — darker in the pooled areas, breaking back to warm brown over the ridges. The polished stainless-steel pump on top reads modern against the textured ceramic body — a deliberate mix of handmade and clean-line.
Use it for:
- Hand soap by a bathroom or kitchen sink
- Washing-up liquid by the sink (the 250 ml fits a standard refill)
- Lotion on a bedside table or dressing table
- Body wash in a shower-room (away from direct spray)
- Gifted as part of a slow swap from plastic bottles to refillable ceramics
A considered gift for someone moving away from plastic bottles in the bathroom, or refreshing a guest room — housewarmings, weddings, or simply because.
Care: Hand wash the ceramic body; remove pump before washing. Refill with your preferred soap.

- Capacity: 250 ml
