A handmade wool felted hanging spring flower, made by hand by Fabode’s mother in Scotland. Choose a single colour or the full set of five.
The making. Each flower is needle-felted from dyed wool by Fabode’s mother. The wool is built up over a small curtain ring, which gives the flower its circular form and a small metal hook at the back for easy hanging. A fine golden string is also attached so you have a choice between hanging straight from the hook or from the string. The flower heads measure approximately 6 cm in diameter.
How it looks and feels. Each flower is a small imaginary bloom rather than a botanically-accurate one — soft, folk-art shapes in clear colour. The five styles run through purple, white, teal, sun yellow, and a light orange, so you can pick one to suit a room or take the full set for a small colourful display. The needle-felted surface is softly fuzzy under the fingers; the curtain ring inside keeps the shape from drifting.
Use it for:
- Hung individually from a window catch, curtain pole, or houseplant
- Grouped from a piece of driftwood as a small wall hanging
- Strung together along a single thread as a flower garland
- Hung on a Christmas tree branch alongside other handmade ornaments
- A small Mother’s Day or birthday gift in a card
A considered gift for a mum, godmother, or friend who decorates with small handmade pieces — Mother’s Day, birthdays, or simply because. Pick a single bloom or send all five.
Spot clean only — do not submerge in water.
Flower head: approximately 6 cm diameter. Hangs on a curtain-ring hook or fine golden string.
