A wool felted hanging fairy in red, with a matching red hat, made by hand by Fabode’s mother in Scotland.

The making. Each fairy is needle-felted from natural wool by Fabode’s mother. A pipe-cleaner skeleton runs through the body so her arms and stance can be gently posed. Red wool forms her dress, with a felted red hat that gives her her distinct silhouette. A long, fine golden string is attached at the top of her head so she can be hung at the height you choose.

How it looks and feels. Rebecca stands approximately 17 cm tall. The deep red of her dress and hat reads as a single bold accent — warmer than the lilac and blue fairies in her set. The needle-felted surface is softly fuzzy under the fingers, and the wire inside lets her position be subtly adjusted when handled.

Use it for:

  • Hung above a studio desk or in a creative corner
  • Perched on a houseplant, bookshelf, or windowsill
  • Hung on a Christmas tree branch alongside other handmade ornaments
  • A small gift for an artist, writer, or anyone setting up a new studio
  • A stocking filler for a friend who needs a gentle nudge to start the work

A considered gift for an artist, a maker, or a friend setting up a creative practice — Christmas, birthdays, or simply because. Rebecca is the artists’ fairy in the story we tell about her — the one we send to a friend who’s about to begin something.

Spot clean only — do not submerge in water.

Approximately 17 cm tall.
