A set of five ceramic magnets — a cobalt-blue butterfly, a turquoise-and-cobalt dragonfly, and small orange and white flowers — hand-built in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each piece is hand-shaped from white clay — rolled, cut, and smoothed by hand. The pieces are bisque-fired at 950°C, then painted with underglaze and sealed with a clear transparent glaze before a second firing. A strong magnet is glued to the back of each piece.
How it looks: A deep cobalt-blue butterfly and a slimmer dragonfly that moves between turquoise and cobalt across its wings — the two large pieces anchor the set. Around them sit small flowers in warm light orange and chalk white. The glossy clear glaze catches the light over a chalk-white clay body.
