A set of seven small ceramic flower and leaf fridge magnets in cherry-blossom pink and dusty purple, hand-built in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each shape is rolled flat from white clay, cut by hand and pressed with petal detail before the first firing. Underglaze paint is brushed on — pink for the blossoms, soft purple for the leaves — then a clear glaze is added and the pieces are kiln-fired. A small magnet is glued to the back of each finished piece. No two flowers are cut exactly the same.
How it looks: Four tiny pink blossoms (about 2.5 cm), one larger pink flower (6 cm), and two purple leaves (around 5.5 cm) — a balanced little set that reads as a spring posy when grouped. The glaze finish is soft and slightly glossy; the petals carry the dimpled texture of being hand-pressed.
Use it for:
- Holding postcards, kids’ drawings or shopping lists to the fridge
- Arranged as a small ceramic mosaic on a magnetic board
- Sticking to a metal filing cabinet at the studio or office
- Gifted to a flatmate, niece or anyone setting up their first kitchen
