White Glazed Leaf Soap & Trinket Dish

A handmade ceramic leaf-shaped dish in white glaze on grey clay, made by our maker in Scotland.

The making: Hand-built from grey stoneware clay shaped into a leaf with raised edges and the veins pressed into the surface. A white glaze is brushed over both top and bottom, then kiln-fired — the white sits thinner over the raised veins and pools slightly into the channels between them, so the leaf’s structure stays visible against the white glazed surface.

How it looks: A flat leaf form in chalky white glaze, with the darker grey clay reading faintly through where the glaze pulls thin over the raised veins. The bottom is glazed too, so it sits cleanly on any surface.

Use it for:

• Holding a small bar of soap by the bathroom or kitchen sink
• As a ring holder on a dressing table or bedside
• Catching earrings, watches and small chains at the end of the day
• Resting a spoon beside the hob during cooking
• Given to someone moving into a first home with a small bathroom
