Coil-built by hand from rustic terracotta clay, the form carries subtle variations and textures that speak of its making — each curve shaped slowly, each mark part of the story. The outer surface is coated in an ivory slip and decorated using the sgraffito technique, where floral motifs are gently scratched into the surface and brought to life with hand-painted underglaze colours.
The result is a joyful band of folk-inspired flowers — slightly whimsical, slightly wonky, and full of charm.
The inside is finished with a smooth white glaze, making it practical as well as decorative, while the textured rim is glazed in a deep graphite grey that beautifully highlights the handmade surface. A transparent glaze seals the floral decoration, giving it a soft, tactile finish.
This piece sits comfortably between function and art — made to be used, but equally at home as a statement object.
