A nature-inspired set of seven ceramic magnets — leaves, peach and white flowers, and a small mushroom — hand-shaped in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each piece is hand-cut from white clay, painted with underglaze in two coats, then bisque-fired. A transparent glaze is brushed on and the magnets are kiln-fired a second time to seal the colour. A small neodymium magnet is glued to the back of each piece.
How it looks: Seven small pieces in mixed shapes and sizes — two green leaves in sage and forest green, two little white flowers, one large and one small flower in warm peach, and a soft cream-and-cap mushroom. The chalk-white clay shows faintly at the edges under a glossy clear glaze.
Use it for:
- Building a small woodland magnetic mosaic on a kitchen fridge
- Pinning postcards to a magnetic notice board in a child’s room
- A small Easter or springtime gift for a friend
- Splitting the set as stocking fillers or party favours
- Adding a hand-glazed detail to a metal filing cabinet
A considered gift for someone who likes a touch of woodland whimsy in the kitchen — birthdays, housewarmings, or simply because.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Avoid soaking.
Size:
- Leaves: approximately 6 cm and 9 cm
- Mushroom: approximately 5 cm
- Small flowers: approximately 2 cm
- Medium flower: approximately 3 cm
- Larger peach flower: approximately 6 cm
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
