A pair of small ceramic Halloween ghosts — a taller “mum” with a softer expression and a smaller “son” beside her — hand-built in our Scottish studio. Sold separately or as a pair.
The making: Each ghost is hand-built from white clay as a hollow figurine, with eye slits and a small mouth cut by hand before the first firing. A smooth white glaze covers the outside; the inside is left raw so the ghost can sit over an LED tea-light or a string of fairy lights and glow from within. The eyes and mouths are picked out in a bronzed black glaze before the second firing.
How it looks: Two hollow ghosts in soft matte white — mum stands slightly taller with a calmer, almost protective tilt; the son is shorter and a little rounder, with a cheekier expression. The bronze glow inside the eye-slits when lit gives them a friendly haunted-house feel rather than anything scary.
Use it for:
- Lit from inside on a mantelpiece during October half-term
- Sitting on a bookshelf as a year-round quietly weird ornament
- An incense cone burner — smoke drifts up through the open base
- Halloween table centrepiece with a string of warm-white fairy lights
- A Halloween gift for a friend who already has the carved pumpkin sorted
A considered gift for a Halloween enthusiast, a parent and child who decorate together, or anyone who collects small handmade figures — Halloween, housewarmings, or simply because.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Use only LED tea-lights inside — do not use a real flame.
Size:
- Mum and son ghost pair — exact dimensions available on request
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
