A small ceramic candlestick holder with a built-in handle, coiled from grey clay and finished in a soft white glaze — made in our Scottish workshop. Available as a single piece or as a set of two at a discounted price.
The making: Hand-built using the coiling technique — thin ropes of grey clay stacked into rings, joined and smoothed by hand, with a small loop pulled out to form the carrying handle. Once dry, the piece is glazed in white and kiln-fired. Each holder is stamped with the Fabode mark on the underside.
How it looks: A short, slightly tapered candlestick with a finger-loop handle on the side — the silhouette of a vintage chamberstick, scaled down. The white glaze sits chalky-soft on the outside and has a quiet, almost matte finish that pairs well with both modern twisted dinner candles and plain tapers.
Use it for:
- On a dining table with a twisted coloured candle for evening meals
- On a bedside table with a plain white taper
- Carried between rooms during a power cut (the handle is for using, not just looking at)
- Grouped as a pair (or three) for a mantelpiece arrangement
- Gifted to someone who lights candles every evening rather than just for occasions
A considered gift for a slow-living household, a new home, or a friend who hosts dinners — housewarmings, Christmas, or simply because.
Care: Wipe wax drips with a soft cloth once cool; hand wash if needed.
Size:
- Height: 7 cm
- Holds a standard dinner candle
- Available individually or as a set of 2
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
