A set of coiled white-stoneware mugs — five at 200ml and one larger 250ml — hand-built in our Scottish studio. Listed price is for a single mug.
The making: Each mug is built up by hand using the coiling technique — long ropes of white clay laid in rings and smoothed together one row at a time, rather than thrown on a wheel. The finger marks left at the joins, the slightly uneven rim, and small variations in height are the signs that you’re holding something made by a person, not a machine. Fired at 1240°C for stoneware strength.
How it looks: Natural white clay finished in a soft white glaze, with the coil ridges still subtly visible if you tilt the mug in the light. The black Fabode logo stamp sits on the bottom. Each mug carries a different rim and silhouette — some lean slightly, some are taller, some rounder.
Use it for:
- Morning coffee, afternoon tea, hot chocolate before bed
- A mismatched set for a kitchen where every mug feels chosen
- A guest mug that doesn’t look like the others on the shelf
- Holding pens, paint brushes or a small bunch of dried flowers
- Built up over time — buy one now, another later, none will quite match
A considered gift for a tea-drinker, a new-flat friend, or someone furnishing their first kitchen — housewarmings, birthdays, or simply because.
Care: Dishwasher and microwave safe; hand wash recommended for longevity of the glaze.
Size:
- Capacity: 200ml (most) or 250ml (one larger). Price shown is per single mug.
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
