A set of six handmade ceramic fridge magnets — cobalt blue dragonfly with orange, blue and white flowers and a painted cloud, made by hand in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each piece is built individually from white clay — rolled, cut, and smoothed by hand. The shapes are dried, kiln fired at 950°C, then hand-painted in underglaze and sealed under a clear transparent glaze. The magnet is fixed to the back once cool. Because every piece is painted by hand, the colours and brush marks vary slightly from set to set.
How it looks: The dragonfly is deep cobalt blue across the body and wings, surrounded by warm light orange, pale blue and white petalled flowers and a softly painted cloud. The transparent glaze sits glossy and even across all the pieces.
