A set of three handmade ceramic Christmas tree ornaments — a gingerbread man, a mustard-yellow snowflake, and a mustard-yellow bell — made by hand in our Scottish studio.
The making: Each ornament is hand-shaped from terracotta clay and bisque-fired in a kiln. The snowflake and bell are painted with mustard-yellow underglaze and accented with warm terracotta details; the gingerbread man is left in its biscuit-brown bisque. A transparent glaze is brushed on one side for a soft sheen before a second firing. Each ornament is finished with a cotton hanging string.
How it looks: Warm mustard yellow against a warm terracotta brown — honey and gingerbread tones that sit happily on a real Christmas tree alongside lights. One side has a glossy clear glaze; the back is left chalky. Each piece is about the size of a small mince pie.
Use it for:
- Hanging on a real or artificial Christmas tree
- Tying onto a wrapped gift as a reusable gift topper
- Hanging in a kitchen window with fairy lights
- Filling a small bowl as a winter mantel display
- A stocking-sized gift for someone who collects handmade ornaments
A considered gift for someone who builds their Christmas tree from handmade pieces year by year — stocking fillers, secret-santa, hostess gifts, or simply because.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Store in a padded box between seasons.
Size:
- Each ornament approximately 6.5 cm
- Handmade — small variations are part of the character
