A handmade reclaimed-pine cube shelf with a mirror back, hand-crafted by our maker in Scotland.
The making: Built entirely from recycled pine. The wood has been left untreated — the surface has oxidised naturally over time to a soft greyish-brown patina. A mirror is fitted to the back of the cube so the piece works both as a small shelf and as a low-set mirror in one. The pine can be sealed with clear wax to lock in the current colour, or left untreated to keep aging on its own.
How it looks: A square open-faced wooden cube in soft greyish-brown reclaimed pine, with a mirror set into the back wall. The grain runs visibly across each face, and the colour reads quieter than fresh new pine — closer to driftwood than yellow timber.
Use it for:
- An entryway shelf for keys, sunglasses and small items — with a quick mirror check on the way out
- Above a bathroom basin as a low mirror with a single shelf for a glass or jewellery
- In a bedroom for a single candle, watch or perfume bottle
- A small statement piece on a hallway wall
- A housewarming or wedding gift for someone setting up a new entryway
A considered gift for the friend who notices wall pieces with character — housewarmings, weddings, anniversaries, or simply because.
Care: Clean with a damp cloth and wipe dry. Can be sealed with clear wax on request to preserve the current patina.
Size:
- 30.5 cm wide x 30 cm tall x 14 cm deep
- Mirror fitted to the back wall
- Handmade from reclaimed pine — grain, tone and patina vary between pieces
