A set of three handmade ceramic Christmas pendant ornaments — a hat, a snowman and a tree, all glazed in soft light blue — made in our Scottish studio. Hung on chocolate-brown hemp string.
The making: Each ornament is shaped from terracotta clay by hand, cut to its character outline (hat, snowman, tree) before bisque-firing. A light blue slip is brushed across the front for a soft, snow-light colour. A clear glaze brings out the blue and seals the surface through the second firing. Chocolate-brown hemp string is tied through the top loop for hanging.
How it looks: Three small 6.5 cm pendants in a frost-blue glaze that reads as winter sky rather than nautical. The terracotta clay peeks through at the edges, warming the cool blue. The shapes are slightly chunky and folk — not slick — with the hand-cut outlines clearly visible. Together they read as a calm, winter-window trio.
Use it for:
- Hung as a set on a Christmas tree near the lights so the glaze catches
- Tied to a length of velvet ribbon and strung across a mantelpiece
- Hung in a winter window as decoration through January and February
- Tied onto a gift package as a keepsake topper
